Frequently Asked Questions

We know it's not always easy visiting a church for the first time. At Pershing Church,
we want your visit to be as comfortable as possible. Here are some questions that
may have come to mind in anticipation of attending one of our services:

  • What should I wear?  [TOP]
Although this may not be important to some, others want to begin their visit by preparing what they will wear. Believing that God looks at the heart, not at our clothes, you should wear whatever is comfortable for you.
  • Where do I park?  [TOP]
When you drive into the parking lot just off Pershing Boulevard, park in the front area and enter into the Main Front Doors
  • Will I be conspicuous?  [TOP]
That is up to you. We have a Welcome Team who is ready to give you any information you may need. BUT, if you would rather go unnoticed, that's okay, too. Just walk by the booth straight ahead into the main auditorium. No one will ask you to stand up or introduce yourself during the service.
  • Will the people be unfriendly or too friendly?  [TOP]
Our desire is to strike a good balance but you can count on someone saying hello and introducing themselves to welcome you.
  • Will they ask me for money?  [TOP]
At Pershing Church we do not ask our guests for money. The worship service is our gift to you. Whether you put something into the offering plate is up to you.
  • Does your church take the Bible literally?  [TOP]
Yes we do! All of our messages and practices are biblically based.
  • What is worship at your church like?  [TOP]
Our worship can both be solemn and enthusiastic and it is most importantly done unto the Lord. It is also done decently and in order.
  • How long are your services?  [TOP]
You can expect a service to usually last 2 hours but we will not hinder the move of God to meet a time quota.
  • What does Pentecostal mean?  [TOP]
The word pentecostal is derived from the word Pentecost, referring to a Jewish feast that was celebrated 50 days after the passover. It was on the day of Pentecost more than 2000 years ago, that the disciples received the Holy Spirit and the Christian church was born. In our attempt to keep our church as close to the practices and customs of the early church, we have called ourselves Pentecostal.
  • Will I still be welcome if I don't believe the same things?  [TOP]
You will be welcome no matter what you believe. We are all on a life journey and want to encourage each other as we travel together. It is our hope that you will find a true relationship with Jesus Christ. This is the place to ask questions, to get to know what the Bible says, to meet followers of Jesus.
